Tata Sierra EV – The era of electric cars is no longer just a trend, it has become the truth of the future. Tata Motors has made a big announcement to further strengthen this future. The company has confirmed that Tata Sierra EV will be launched in India in the first quarter of FY2026-27. This information was recently shared during the company’s Arnings call. So let’s tell you its complete details.
Tata Sierra EV
The company will position Tata Sierra EV in its EV lineup between Curvv EV and Harrier EV. This means that it will be a mid-size electric SUV, which will come with premium features and power.

Tata Motors is already considered the leader of the EV segment in India. In such a situation, Sierra EV will not be just another model for the company, but a strategically important product.
In Auto Expo 2025, Tata made it clear that the new generation Sierra would be brought to both ICE and EV versions. Now the launch timeline of EV version has been confirmed.
Design
The design of the Sierra EV will continue to be very similar to the petrol-diesel version, but some EV-specific changes can be seen. The biggest change will be the closed-off front grille, seen mostly in electric cars. In addition, new bumper designs and different styling alloy wheels can be found.
Talking inside, the infotainment system is expected to get new graphics and updated software. EV-focused displays, battery status and range details can be shown in a more attractive way.
Battery and range
Talking about the powertrain of Sierra EV, it is expected that it will share battery and motor options with Harrier EV. The Harrier EV gets 65kWh and 75kWh battery packs. The clamed range of 65kWh variants is up to 538 kilometers and gives 235 bhp power and 315 Nm torque.

At the same time, the large 75kWh battery pack generates 390 bhp and 504 Nm of strong torque. If the same setup is found in the Sierra EV, it could become one of the most powerful electric SUVs in its segment.
In addition, dual-motor or AWD (All-Wheel Drive) options can also be found. Think, this combination can be quite attractive with so much strength and a long range in electric SUVs.
Compititor
After launch, Tata Sierra EV will compete with trains such as Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV and the upcoming Maruti e Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella.
But Sierra has a strong brand value and emotional connection. For those who remember the 90s Sierra, this SUV is not just a car, but part of memories.
