Security Forces Score Big, 2 Terrorists Killed in Encounter

New Delhi: Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have achieved a major success. Two terrorists were killed in an encounter in a remote area of the ​​Kishtwar district today. This is being considered a major setback to the terrorists’ plans before Holi. Weapons, ammunition, and ammunition were also seized from the site where the terrorists were shot.

Army officials believe that both terrorists killed in the encounter during the search operation had links to the Pakistan-backed Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). Both terrorists were natives of Pakistan. The operation was initiated after receiving inputs about both terrorists from Indian intelligence agencies.

The Army’s White Knight Corps shared important information on the social media platform X. In a post on X, it stated that based on reliable intelligence input received from their sources, the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Intelligence Bureau launched a well-planned joint operation in the Kishtwar area under Operation Trashi-I.

The operation was aimed at monitoring and neutralising the activities of terrorists operating in the area, and it was successful. Following the initial successful contact, CIF Delta troops, along with the Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF, engaged the terrorists in difficult terrain around 11 am.

Where were the two terrorists hiding?

A military officer stated that the two terrorists were hiding inside a mud house on a hill. Reaching them appeared extremely difficult. As security forces advanced, the terrorists, alarmed by the threat to their lives, opened fire in the air without aiming. The security forces then retaliated with a resounding retort.

Displaying unflinching coordination and determination, the soldiers captured the encounter site. In the ensuing exchange of fire, the security forces first killed one terrorist, followed by the second shortly after. Two AK-47 rifles and warlike equipment were seized from the slain terrorists. According to the army, a search operation is still underway in the area. Surveillance is being maintained at every nook and corner.
