PNB New Rule: If you are a customer of PNB, the country’s second-largest public sector bank, this news could be very important for you. PNB has made a significant change for its debit card users. PNB has modified the rules for its RuPay Platinum debit card, which will affect cardholders. Let’s find out what the new rule is and how it will impact you.
PNB RuPay Platinum Debit Card
PNB has announced that RuPay Platinum debit cardholders will no longer receive unconditional free entry to domestic airport lounges. This change will be effective from April 1, 2026. This means that after April 1, 2026, simply showing the card will not grant free entry to airport lounges, regardless of your spending.

The bank has also clarified on its website that all free lounge access facilities on the RuPay Platinum card will be discontinued from April 1, 2026. This information has been provided to customers in advance to allow them to take necessary action.
Facility Linked to Spending
However, the facility has not been completely discontinued. Now, airport lounge access will be linked to the cardholder’s spending. From April 15, 2026, access to domestic airport lounges will only be granted if a minimum specified amount has been spent in the previous quarter.
According to this new rule, if you want to avail of free lounge access, you will have to spend at least Rs. 5,000 in the previous quarter. This means that free entry to the lounge by simply showing the card, as was possible before, will no longer be available.
This change by PNB will directly affect RuPay Platinum debit cardholders, especially those who previously availed of free airport lounge access without any spending requirements.
