PNB: If you have a debit card from Punjab National Bank (PNB), one of the top state-owned banks, we want to let you know that they’ve updated their debit card policies and introduced a new regulation. This change will impact customers who use RuPay Platinum debit cards. Let’s dive into the details of the new rules for PNB’s RuPay Platinum debit card.
PNB RuPay Platinum Debit Card
Starting April 1, 2026, PNB will no longer offer free access to domestic airport lounges. According to a statement from PNB, after this date, holders of RuPay Platinum debit cards will not be able to enjoy unconditional free lounge access, meaning you won’t be able to enter lounges just by showing your card, no matter how much you spend.
As per the information on the PNB website, all complimentary lounge access benefits tied to the PNB RuPay Platinum Debit Card will be discontinued from April 1, 2026. This is important for customers to know and act upon. While the bank hasn’t completely removed this benefit, it has now made it dependent on spending. PNB has made it clear that starting April 15, 2026, access to domestic airport lounges will only be granted if the cardholder has spent a certain minimum amount in the previous quarter, meaning lounge access will now require a minimum spend. Here’s how it works.
To qualify for free lounge access, you’ll need to spend at least Rs 5000 in the previous quarter. This new rule will directly impact PNB RuPay Platinum debit card holders who previously enjoyed free lounge access without any spending requirements.
