Now, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is providing these individuals with the facility to change their Aadhaar status to Foreign National. Who needs to change their Aadhaar status?

This process is for foreign nationals:

Whose Aadhaar was mistakenly issued as an Indian resident

Who have subsequently acquired citizenship of another country

Whose nationality information was not correctly recorded at the time of Aadhaar enrollment

Documents required to change Aadhaar status

Applicants must visit an Aadhaar Service Centre or authorized enrollment center and present the following original documents:

Foreign Passport

Valid Visa (such as Long-Term, Student, or Employment Visa)

FRRO or FRO Registration Certificate (if applicable)

Proof of residence in India (if residing in India)

Simple process to update Aadhaar status

Visit your nearest Aadhaar enrollment or update center

Fill out the Demographic Update Form

Select the Citizenship/Nationality Update option

Submit the required documents for verification
