The plane was last tracked at 1:17 p.m. in the Leang-Leang area of ​​Maros, a mountainous district in South Sulawesi province. Sari said in a statement that several search and rescue teams have been deployed, assisted by air force helicopters, drones, and ground units. She said hopes of finding the wreckage have increased after mountaineers on Mount Bulusaraung reported seeing scattered debris, some bearing markings similar to those of Indonesia Air Transport, and a fire at the site.
