Prashant Tamang Death: Renowned singer and actor Prashant Tamang has passed away. The singer died on January 11, 2026, at his residence in New Delhi. Prashant won ‘Indian Idol Season 3’ in 2007. He also appeared in the web series Paatal Lok 2. Prashant Tamang died at the age of 43. His fans are deeply saddened by the news of his death. Prashant’s music partner, Bhaven Dhanak, confirmed his death in an Instagram post. Expressing his grief, he wrote, “I can’t believe you’re gone, my brother.” According to reports, Prashant Tamang died due to cardiac arrest. He was at his home in Janakpuri, Delhi, when he suffered cardiac arrest. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, but doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

Tamang, a native of Darjeeling, was born on January 4, 1983. He lost his father at a very young age. He later joined the Kolkata Police as a constable. During his service, he nurtured his passion for music through the police orchestra.
After his father’s death, he dropped out of his studies and took a job as a constable in the Kolkata Police to support his family.
Winner of Indian Idol 3 title
In 2007, Prashant participated in the singing reality show Indian Idol 3. Prashant Tamang won the show with his talent, and his victory on Indian Idol 3 changed his life. He played a pivotal role in Paatal Lok 2. The singer delivered a powerful performance as Daniel Lecho in the second season of ‘Paatal Lok’. His songs ‘Bir Gorkhali’ and ‘Asare Mahima’ still resonate as powerful cultural anthems.
