Driving License New Update: In today’s world, a driving license is necessary to drive a vehicle. If you want to get a driving license, this news might be especially relevant for you. Since May 2025, applicants for a permanent driving license (DL) no longer need to visit the Regional Transport Office (RTO). Now, people take the test on an automated driving track, which is monitored by CCTV cameras. Approximately 1500 people apply for a permanent DL every month.

Automated Track Inaugurated in Artauni

The automated driving track was inaugurated on May 6, 2024, at the ADTC (Automated Driving Test Centre) in Artauni, Agra. Now, those seeking a permanent DL are taking the test under the surveillance of 60 sensor-equipped cameras. A permanent DL is issued only after the applicant successfully demonstrates four different types of parking maneuvers. The Regional Transport Officer (RTO) representative is also present during this process.

Monitoring with 60 CCTV Cameras

According to the center’s director, Sanjeev Prajapati, the 60 sensor-equipped cameras immediately detect any mistakes made by the driver. Generally, a person who completes the S-shaped parking maneuver in 50 seconds is considered to have passed the test, while those who take 70 seconds or more are considered to have failed.

New Outsourcing Company Speeds Up the Process

From December 1, 2025, the deployment of staff in the DL sections of all districts in the state will be handled by a new outsourcing company. Previously, this responsibility was held by only one company across the entire state. This change will significantly expedite the DL application process.
