The Super League phase of the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT 2025) has started. Many star players of India are the part of the tournament. Pacer Mohammed Siraj also played for his state team Hyderabad. Yesterday, Hyderabad was up against Mumbai. In the match, without wasting anytime, Siraj picked up 2 early wickets to help his team. In overall, Siraj claimed 3 wickets in match and helped Hyderbad to register an easy win against a star studded team.

Easy win for Hyderbad over Mumbai

Mumbai, which included Yashasvi Jaiswal (29), Sarfaraz Khan (5), Ajinkya Rahane (9), and Shardul Thakur (0), were bundled out for 131, with Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj taking 3/17 in 3.5 overs for Hyderabad. This confirms that Siraj is now poised for a comeback. In addition to Siraj, Tanay Thyagarajan took two wickets.

In reply, Aman Rao (52 not out) and Tanmay Agarwal (75) helped Hyderabad reach the target in just 11.5 overs. Hyderabad made 132 for one and secured four points with a nine-wicket win.

In another match, Indian all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy scored 25 runs and took a hat-trick (3/17 in three overs) for Andhra, but his performance didn’t help his team, allowing Madhya Pradesh to win by four wickets in a low-scoring match. Andhra was bowled out for 112 in 19.1 overs, with KS Bharat top-scoring with 39.

Madhya Pradesh won by scoring 113 for six in 17.3 overs, with Rishabh Chauhan scoring 47 and Rahul Batham scoring an unbeaten 35. Reddy took the wickets of opener Harsh Gawli, number three Harpreet Singh Bhatia, and captain Rajat Patidar off consecutive balls in the third over of the innings to complete his hat-trick. Madhya Pradesh were then reduced to 14 for three, but the team staged a comeback to claim full four points.
