Bank Holidays in December 2025: December will feature several bank holidays. A total of 19 days will be closed across the country. In addition to four Sundays and two Saturdays in December 2025, there will be 13 local festival holidays across different states. We have brought you the list of bank holidays for December. According to the RBI, there will be holidays for the upcoming Christmas and New Year festivals.

In December 2025, all banks nationwide will be closed on the 14th, 21st, and 28th. Furthermore, December 13th will be the second Saturday of the month, and December 27th will be the fourth Saturday of the month, resulting in a nationwide bank holiday. In addition, banks will also be closed on December 12, 18, 19, 20, 22, 24, 25, 26, 27, 30, and 31 due to local festivals in different states across the country.

On Friday, December 12, 2025, there will be a bank holiday in Meghalaya on the occasion of the death anniversary of Pa Togan Nengminja Sangma.
On Thursday, December 18, 2025, there will be a bank holiday in Meghalaya on the occasion of the death anniversary of U Soso Tham.
On Friday, December 19, 2025, there will be a bank holiday in Goa to mark Goa Liberation Day.
On Saturday, December 22, 2025, there will be a bank holiday in Sikkim due to the Losung/Namsung Festival.
Banks will be closed on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, in Mizoram, Nagaland, and Meghalaya for Christmas Eve celebrations.
Banks will be closed across India on Thursday, December 25, for Christmas.
Banks will be closed on Friday, December 26, in Mizoram, Nagaland, and Meghalaya for Christmas celebrations.
Banks in Nagaland will be closed on Saturday, December 27, for Christmas.
Banks in Meghalaya will be closed on Thursday, December 30, in observance of the death anniversary of U Kiang Nangbah.
Banks will be closed on Friday, December 31, in Mizoram and Manipur for New Year’s Eve (Imoinu Iratpa).

There will be six weekend holidays in December 2025. Banks will be closed on the second Saturday of the 13th and the fourth Saturday of the 27th. Banks will remain closed on the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th due to Sunday.
