The biggest advantage of this scheme is that surplus electricity generated can be sent to the grid, which will also improve the balance of energy production and supply. The government is providing a subsidy of ₹45,000 for a 1 kW plant, ₹90,000 for a 2 kW plant, and up to ₹1,08,000 for systems ranging from 3 to 10 kW. However, beneficiaries will also have to contribute a certain amount.
