Driving License Application: If you want to get a license, you no longer need to visit the RTO. You can apply online. You can also take the license test online. If you pass the test, your learning license will be delivered to your home. However, to obtain a permanent license, you will need to demonstrate driving on a track. With this new system, you can obtain a learning license by booking a slot.

Getting a learning license from home has now become much easier than before. Applicants need to visit the Transport Department’s website and click on the Sarathi app link. After selecting the new license service, they will need to enter information such as name, address, Aadhaar number, and mobile number. After entering all the details, the application fee will be deposited online, and a slot for the test can be booked. Applicants can take the online test from home or an internet cafe on the selected day.
After obtaining a learning license, it will be necessary to visit the RTO office to obtain a permanent license. There, the applicant has to demonstrate their ability by driving the vehicle. After passing the test, the permanent driving license is sent to the applicant’s address through the post.

A total of 15 questions will be asked in the online test for the learning license. An applicant will be considered passed only if they answer at least 9 of these questions correctly. An application for a permanent license can be made one month after the issuance of a learning license.
In the new process, as before, it is mandatory to book a slot. The online test will have to be given only on the scheduled date. Applicants whose slots are already booked will also get the facility to take the test from their homes after the new system is implemented.
