Shani Dev Remedies – Saturday is considered the most sacred day dedicated to Shani Dev, the cosmic lord of discipline, justice and karma. According to ancient beliefs, performing certain rituals on this day helps reduce the impact of Shani Dosha and brings divine blessings, protection, and relief from obstacles.
Here are some simple yet powerful Saturday remedies that devotees can follow.
Light a Lamp Under a Peepal Tree
Scriptures say that Shani Dev resides in the Peepal tree. If there is no Shani temple near your home, lighting a lamp beneath a Peepal tree on Saturday is believed to invite positive energy and remove karmic blockages.
Offer a Mustard Oil Lamp if You Can’t Perform Full Puja
If, for any reason, you are unable to observe a fast or perform the whole ritual, offering a mustard oil lamp is considered highly auspicious.
This simple act helps dispel negativity and invokes the special blessings of Shani Dev. Devotees also believe that while worshipping Shani, one should avoid looking directly into his eyes, as it is considered a mark of humility.
How to Perform Shani Dev Puja Properly?
To please Shani Dev, wake up during Brahma Muhurta and take a holy bath. Clean your temple space and gently bathe the idol of Shani Dev. Offer jaggery, black cloth, black sesame seeds, black urad dal and mustard oil.
After the offerings, recite the Shani Chalisa or Shani Katha with devotion. Complete the worship by offering poori and khichdi made from black urad dal, and then perform the aarti.
Observe Seven Consecutive Saturdays for Relief
Ancient texts state that keeping a Saturday fast or worshipping Shani Dev with proper rituals can help reduce the effects of Sade Sati and Dhaiya. The fast can be started from the first Saturday of any Shukla Paksha.
By observing fasts for seven consecutive Saturdays, devotees are believed to receive relief from hardships and protection from karmic challenges.
