PNB KYC Update: If you are a Punjab National Bank customer, there is important news for you. The bank has issued an alert stating that savings account holders who have not updated their KYC must do so by November 30, 2025. Failure to do so by this time will result in your account being frozen. This means you will not be able to withdraw or transfer funds or use UPI or net banking.

Well, there’s no need to worry; you can now check and update your KYC online from the comfort of your home. You need a smartphone and the official app or internet banking. Let’s take a step-by-step look at how you can do KYC from home.

How to do & check KYC using PNB app

Step 1: First, download the PNB ONE mobile app on your phone. You can do this through Google Play or the App Store. Log in to the app, go to the menu, and select the “KYC Update / Status” option.

Step 2: If your KYC is pending on the screen, tap “Update KYC”. This will initiate the Aadhaar verification process via OTP. This will result in an OTP being sent to the mobile number linked to Aadhaar. Once the OTP is complete, the account will be reactivated, and the bank will send a confirmation message to you.

By visiting an offline branch or sending documents

If you don’t want to use the app, you can visit your nearest PNB branch. A KYC update form will be available there. Bring your ID proof, address proof, passport-size photo, PAN or Form 60, and income proof, if requested. If you can’t visit a branch, you can send photocopies or scanned documents to your base branch via registered email or post. After submitting the documents, the bank will verify them, and your KYC status will be updated.

Is it necessary to update KYC?

The purpose of updating KYC (Know Your Customer) is to ensure that the bank knows that the account holder is a genuine individual, preventing fraud, money laundering, and illegal transactions. Failure to update your KYC on time could result in your account being frozen or suspended. This means you won’t be able to withdraw money, transfer funds, or use net banking. Therefore, PNB has alerted all customers to update their KYC by November 30, 2025.

Keep these things in mind regarding KYC:

PNB or any bank employee will never send you any unknown links or messages asking for  OTP/password/documents. If you receive such a link or message, ignore it immediately. KYC updates should only be done through official channels (PNB ONE app, internet banking, branch, registered email/post). Where you should keep Aadhar, mobile number and bank account linked so that OTP verification can be done.
