Pensioners’ New Update: The month of November is about to end. The government has issued deadlines for several tasks for pensioners. These deadlines include life certificates, tax-related work, and UPS options. Failure to complete these tasks before the deadline could create difficulties for pensioners. This could mean their pensions could be suspended. Therefore, it is crucial to complete these tasks before the deadline.

Last Date for Enrolling in UPS

The deadline for central government employees to enroll in UPS is November 30. The government had originally set this deadline as September 30, but it has been extended by two months to November 30. If you haven’t completed this task yet, please complete it immediately.

It should be noted that through UPS, employees contribute 10% of their basic salary and D, while the government contributes 18.5%. This system is different from the old pension scheme. Under this scheme, employees received a pension of 50% of their last basic pay without any contribution. Therefore, if employees choose NPS, they have until November 30th.

Deadline for Submitting Life Certificate

If you are a pensioner or have a pensioner in your family, you must submit a life certificate this year, as every year, to ensure you continue receiving your pension. There are several ways to submit a life certificate. You can submit a life certificate through banks, CSC centers, government offices, or mobile apps. India Post Payment Bank has made this process easier, allowing pensioners to submit life certificates digitally from home.

Taxpayers with international or domestic transactions under Section 92E are also required to file their ITR by November 30.
