OnePlus Phone Gets Major Upgrade: This update may feel like a major upgrade for those who still own the OnePlus Nord 4. Finally, Android 16-based OxygenOS 16 has begun its rollout for users in India, bringing more power to your phone through new AI features, more ways to customize, reimagined animations, and a redesigned interface, among other things. As it always does, the company is releasing the update in batches, meaning some will get the update notification before others do.

Major Highlights of the New OxygenOS 16 Update

OnePlus has introduced various changes with OxygenOS 16, such as refined design language encompassing translucent elements, Gaussian blur, rounded corners, and new Quick Settings visuals. The update removes icon text for a minimal look and does a better job of grid layout, cleaning up the UI and making it simpler to navigate.

The build number for this rollout is CPH2661_16.0.1.301(EX01), and according to OnePlus, the rollout will expand in more regions over the next few weeks.

Customization and UI Improvements

One of the most noticeable added features is the new AI-powered Flux theme and motion wallpapers. The ability to set motion photos and videos as live wallpapers with depth effects has also been made available, while on the lock screen, custom text options have been added for personalization. Finally, widgets and folders have gained fluid drag-and-drop animations for smoother interaction.

New AI Features for Smarter Experience

The latest OxygenOS update focuses a lot on AI. Some new inclusions include AI photos that are more capable of editing, such as merging and splitting videos; AI portrait glow to improve low-light shots; and AI writing tools to assist in notes and text generation. There’s also enhancement in AI recorder and AI notes for better productivity.
