CAT 2025 will be conducted in three different slots on the same day. Each slot will last 2 hours, or 120 minutes. The timings for the slots are as follows:
- Slot 1: 08:30 AM – 10:30 AM

Exam Pattern – Section Wise and Question Types
- CAT 2025 will be a Computer-Based Test (CBT) and will have three main sections:
- VARC (Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension)
- DILR (Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning)
QA (Quantitative Ability)
The entire paper will carry a total of ~204 marks, with a possible total of 66–68 questions. Two types of questions may be asked—MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) and TITA (Type In The Answer)—where TITA requires typing in the answer. Candidates will be given 40 minutes for each section; the time is divided section-wise.
Marking Scheme
In CAT, +3 marks will be awarded for each correct answer. Negative marking of -1 mark will apply for incorrect answers (this applies only to questions with options, such as MCQs).
There is generally no negative marking for TITA questions; however, official instructions are provided in the notice. Please read them. The total duration is 120 minutes, and adherence to the time limit for each section is mandatory. Exceeding the section time limit will automatically lead to the next section.
