PM Surya Ghar Yojana: To bring solar energy to every home and provide relief to consumers from rising electricity bills, the Electricity Department is rapidly implementing the Prime Minister Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme. Junior Electrical Engineer Sanjeev Kumar explained that under this scheme, consumers can achieve significant long-term savings by installing solar systems on their rooftops. He said that this option is extremely beneficial for households with high electricity consumption. Solar panels not only reduce electricity bills but also provide energy independence to the consumer.

Solar Capacity and Benefits

According to Assistant Electrical Engineer Sanjay Kumar, if a family installs a 3-kilowatt solar panel, it can benefit from approximately 300 units of electricity per month. Based on this, the consumer can achieve direct savings of approximately 15,000 rupees per year.

The department says that this scheme will prove extremely beneficial for families whose monthly electricity bill is between 1,600 and 2,000 rupees.
