Bank Holidays: If you’re planning to visit the bank next week for any banking-related work, you’ll need to review the complete list of holidays beforehand. Banks will be closed on several days between November 17th and 23rd. According to the RBI calendar, banks across India will be closed for two days this week. Banks will be closed on Saturday, November 22nd, and Sunday, November 23rd. According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), there are no bank holidays between November 17th and 23rd, except for regular weekly holidays.
In addition to the RBI-designated holidays, banks are closed on Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays of every month. So far, banks have been closed for a total of 6 days in November due to regional festivals and local events across the country. The RBI finalises the list of bank holidays in consultation with state governments. The central bank then publishes the list on its official website and issues information to banks and other financial institutions.
During bank holidays, people can continue to use online or mobile banking services. These services remain open even on national holidays, unless the bank notifies you of a service disruption due to technical problems or other reasons. In case of a cash emergency, ATMs remain open for withdrawals.
