Since large groups often bear heavy media files, this improvement ensures smooth control over storage without having to dig through many menus.
Starred messages remain safe
WhatsApp now adds a protective step for starred messages. During cleanup, the app will confirm whether the user wants to keep starred texts or media. This prevents accidental deletion of memorable photos, important reminders, or essential information. The added safety layer ensures that only unnecessary content is removed, keeping valuable data secure.
iOS-style layout and easier access
The update also redesigns how the Clear Chat option is positioned. It now sits right at the bottom of the chat info page, similar to the layout on iOS.
