New Delhi: When you fill petrol at a petrol pump, theft is common. Many petrol pump employees deceive customers. People often advise each other to fill petrol at a particular petrol pump. Some young people even prefer to fill petrol and diesel at ₹110 and ₹220 to avoid theft. But they still get cheated.

A video is going viral on social media, where a petrol pump employee demonstrates the correct method of filling petrol and diesel. You can also learn the correct method. If you want to catch a petrol pump employee’s cleverness, you must first keep some important things in mind. Find out which ones are crucial below.

Keep these important things in mind when filling petrol

In a viral video on social media, you can see a man explaining why people only fill petrol at ₹110, ₹210, and ₹310. The petrol pump employee says, “Forget all this. You just need to keep two things in mind when filling petrol. This will ensure you’ll never be cheated.”

The first thing you need to do is check the density on the machine. It’s written like this: it should be between 720 and 775. The person further explains that diesel has a density of 820 to 860. This density indicates how pure the fuel you’re filling is. What is its quality, and whether it’s been adulterated?

Looking at 0 won’t help.

When someone fills up at a petrol pump, the first thing they notice is the 0 on the machine. But the next number must be 5. After 0, there should be 2, 3, 4, etc. Sometimes the meter jumps from 0 and goes straight to 10, 12, or 15. In such a situation, there’s a chance the machine has been tampered with and is being used to dispense less petrol or diesel.

Refilling the remaining 210-310 baht of petrol doesn’t make any difference. This reel is going viral on Instagram. In it, @babamunganathfillingstation wrote, “True pump, true words.” So far, this video has received over 700,000 likes and over 4,500 comments.
