EPFO Update: The year 2025 has been a significant year for PF employees. The EPFO has made several changes to its rules. The new rules, EPFO 3.0 Final PF Settlement, also address reducing rejections and auto-claims. The process of withdrawing funds from the PF has become much easier.
EPF funds will now be credited to bank accounts without filling out a form. The government is soon going to introduce ATM withdrawals. This process is expected to begin in January 2026. This will provide significant benefits to PF employees. You can learn important information about PF withdrawals below.
PF Partial Withdrawals
Did you know that previously, there were 13 different categories for partial withdrawals? These have now been reduced to three.
Essential Needs – PF funds can be withdrawn for illness, education, and marriage. Withdrawals can also be made in special circumstances, including housing. In the most important circumstances, members are no longer required to indicate their category. Previously, there was no need to provide a reason, which often resulted in claims being rejected.
PF members can now withdraw 100% of their balance. This will include contributions from both the employee and employer. According to the new rules, withdrawals will be allowed up to 10 times for education and up to 5 times for marriage. A minimum of 12 months of service is required for partial withdrawals. The rules have now become simpler than before.
PF will be automatically transferred.
There will be no need to fill out Form 13 for PF transfers upon changing jobs. If an employee joins a new job, the new employer will update the joining date, and the PF transfer will be automatic.
This means that the Universal Account Number (UAN) is also a permanent PF identification number for every employee. If your UAN is active, KYC is complete, and bank details are linked, you can easily receive your first salary as soon as you join the new job.
Important Points Regarding Auto-Claim Settlement
Did you know that ATM and UPI withdrawals will be made easier? Along with this, there will be an improved online portal and mobile interface. The online correction system will be supported with OTP verification. This will allow members to make corrections to their name, date of birth, or other information online.
