iPhone 18 series: Expected to debut in September 2026, Apple’s iPhone 18 series may include a number of key upgrades. According to reports, the iPhone 18 Pro variants may have a transparent exterior and all models may have 12GB of RAM. The A20 Pro chip, which offers better performance, may possibly be included in the upcoming iPhone models.
The iPhone 17 series was recently released by Apple, and fresh rumors about the future iPhone 18 series have emerged. Apple’s coming iPhone 18 series, which will be available in September 2026, may have even more substantial advancements, including up to 50% more RAM than the current iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, according to a recent report from Korea’s The Bell.
Every version will come with 12GB of RAM.
Reports indicate that the basic iPhone 17 still has 8GB of RAM, but the newly released iPhone 17 series has 12GB. But according to recent reports, Apple intends to increase the memory capacity of all iPhone 18 models, which might eventually result in the standard iPhone 18 receiving 12GB of RAM.
Apple is said to have requested that Samsung expand its supply of its high-performance LPDDR5X memory chips, which are available in 12GB and 16GB capacities. Also, the company is talking with Micron and SK Hynix to buy additional RAM for the 2026 portfolios.
iPhone 18 New Transparent Design
According to rumors, the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max will have a similar aluminum unibody design as the iPhone 17 Pro series, but Apple is planning to add a new transparent back glass finish for a different aesthetic. A tiny dynamic island might also be included on the basic iPhone 18.
It is expected that this iPhone generation would have the A20 Pro chip, which is constructed using a 2nm technology. It will have better on-device AI capabilities, faster performance, and more power economy. The A20 processor, which was developed using the 2nm process, may even be used with the standard iPhone 18.
