Railway Recruitment Board has officially begun the online application process for RRB JE Vacancy 2025 from October 31 onwards. Candidates can apply online through the official website rrbapply.gov.in till November 30, 2025. A total of 2570 vacancies has been announced by the board this year for the posts of Junior Engineers, which is significantly lower than the 7951 positions notified in 2024. The lesser number of vacancies has led to tough competition among aspirants who wish to be recruited into Indian Railways.

RRB JE Vacancy 2025 Eligibility Criteria
For RRB JE Vacancy 2025, candidates should have a degree/diploma in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, and Telecommunication Engineering from a recognized university/institute. For Junior Engineer (IT), BCA, PGDCA, or DOEACC B-level qualification is required. Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant posts require certain technical qualifications; refer to the official notification for details.
RRB JE Vacancy 2025 Age Limit
Candidates should be aged between 18-33 years. SC/ST candidates will have an age relaxation of 5 years, while OBC candidates get 3 years. The earlier general relaxation of 3 years, extended during the pandemic, has since been withdrawn, and the maximum age limit is strictly fixed at 33 years.
RRB JE Selection Process
RRB JE Vacancy 2025: The selection process involves two computer-based tests, document verification, and a medical examination. CBT 1 will consist of 100 questions for 90 minutes and CBT 2 will have 150 questions for 120 minutes. For every wrong answer, there is a negative marking of one-third mark.
RRB JE Application Fee
Applicants in the general category will have to pay ₹ 500, out of which ₹ 400 will be refunded after the exam is taken. SC/ST/Women/Economically Weaker Sections/Ex-servicemen have to pay ₹ 250, which will be fully refunded post-exam attendance.
