JEE Main 2026:  Registration for JEE Main 2026, the largest engineering entrance exam, is set to begin soon. Sources indicate that the National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to begin the application process for the JEE Main January session tonight, October 31, 2025. Every year, after passing the 12th grade, students appear for entrance exams for further studies. If you also want to pursue a career in engineering, you have a great opportunity to apply for JEE Main 2026.

The exam will be held between January 21st and 30th.

The NTA has already issued an advisory stating that the first session of JEE Main 2026 will be held in January. The tentative exam dates are January 21st to 30th, 2026. The second session will be held in April 2026. This time, the exam will again be conducted in computer-based (CBT) mode at various centres across the country.

How to complete the registration process

As soon as the application process begins, candidates can register for JEE Main 2026 by following the steps below:

  • First, visit the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in.
  • Click on the “JEE Main 2026 Registration Link” on the homepage.
  • Register by entering the required information, such as name, mobile number, email ID, etc.
  • Fill in your educational details and exam centre preference in the application form.
  • Upload the required documents (photograph, signature, and certificates).
  • Pay the application fee online and submit the form according to your category.
  • Finally, save a PDF copy of the application form and keep its printout safe.

What are the eligibility criteria?

As per the guidelines issued by the NTA, candidates must have passed an examination from a recognised board under the 10+2 system. Eligible examinations include:

  • 12th-grade examination from the CBSE, ISC, or State Board
  • Intermediate or Pre-University examination conducted by a recognised board/university
  • Higher Secondary examination (with at least 5 subjects) conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS)
  • Three-year diploma course recognised by the AICTE or State Technical Board
  • Or 10+2 examination from a foreign board recognised by the AIU (Association of Indian Universities).

Second Session Exam in April

After the results of the first session are released, the second session of JEE Main 2026 will be held between April 1 and 10, 2026. The application process will begin in the last week of January. Students who wish to improve their scores in the first semester will receive a second chance.
