Sikkim DA Hike: There is good news for the government employees and pensioners of Sikkim. Before Diwali, the state’s Prem Singh Tamang government has given a big gift to the state employees and pensioners who are getting the benefit of 7th and 6th Pay Commission.
The Sikkim government has increased the dearness allowance of these employees by 2 to 6 percent. The new rates will be considered effective from January 2025. The employees of work-charged establishments appointed on contract basis and getting revised salary in the regular pay scale will also get its benefit.
DA hiked by 2 to 6 percent for Sikkim employees and pensioners
According to a notification issued by the Finance Department, Sikkim, employees and pensioners drawing salaries under the revised basic pay structure will receive an additional 2 percent DA and DR. With this, their DA and DR will increase from 53 percent to 55 percent. Employees and pensioners drawing salaries under the pre-revised basic pay structure will receive an additional 6 percent DA and DR (dearness relief), respectively. After this increase, their DA and DR will increase by 246 percent to 252 percent. This increase will be effective from January 1, 2025.
DA has increased in these states along with the Centre
Before Diwali, the central government, along with the governments of Bihar, Rajasthan, and Gujarat, announced a 3% increase in dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) for employees and pensioners. The Modi government at the center has increased the dearness allowance and relief rates for central employees and pensioners by 3%, effective July 1, 2025, increasing the DA from 55% to 58%. This will benefit 49.19 lakh employees and 68.72 lakh pensioners.
The Bhupendra Patel government in Gujarat has also increased the dearness allowance of its employees and pensioners by 3%. The new rates will be effective from July 2025, and three months’ arrears will also be paid. This will benefit 9.51 lakh employees and pensioners. The dearness allowance or dearness relief payable to Rajasthan’s seventh pay scale employees and pensioners will be increased from 55 percent to 58 percent from July 1, 2025. This decision will benefit approximately 8 lakh employees and 4.40 lakh pensioners.
The Nitish Kumar government in Bihar has increased the dearness allowance for employees and pensioners by 3%, increasing the DA rate from 55% to 58%. The new rates will be implemented in July 2025, and arrears for July, August, and September will also be paid. This will benefit 6 lakh employees and 4 lakh pensioners.
