BSNL VoWiFi Service: Are you a customer of the state-owned telecom company BSNL? If yes, then there’s good news for you. BSNL has introduced a feature for its users that will make you happy. This means that the company has now brought the ability to make voice calls without any mobile network.
The good news we’re talking about is BSNL’s new VoWiFi (Voice over Wi-Fi) service, which launched on October 2nd. This means that you can now enjoy calls without any mobile network, simply through a Wi-Fi connection. This service puts BSNL on par with private companies like Airtel.
BSNL celebrates 25 years
To mark BSNL’s 25th anniversary, the company is launching its VoWiFi service, a significant achievement. BSNL recently expanded its 4G service to over 100,000 locations across the country, and the company is planning to expand further.
Speaking of this service, it was launched on October 2nd and inaugurated by Mittal, Secretary of the Department of Telecommunications (DOT). Currently, this service has been launched only in the South and West circles, but it will soon be expanded nationwide. Additionally, BSNL has launched 4G and eSIM services in Mumbai, having previously launched them in Tamil Nadu.
How will this VoWiFi service work?
This service could be particularly beneficial in areas with significant network problems. This service can be used via Wi-Fi or broadband connections. It allows for clear and stable calls without interruptions. However, this requires the user’s smartphone to have VoWiFi, which is now available on Android and iPhone devices.
Customers will get VoWiFi service for free
BSNL has announced on its official X account that this new VoWiFi service will be completely free. Users will not incur any additional charges for making calls. This service is solely for better connectivity and uninterrupted calling.
Private companies will face competition
BSNL’s service has created a stir among other telecom companies like Airtel and Vi. It is believed that this service could pose a significant challenge to these companies. While these private companies previously offered Wi-Fi calling, BSNL has now joined that list. This could prove to be a significant step forward.
