Monsoon Forecast – Very Heavy Rain Warnings Issued in 17 States for September 17, 18 & 19

Monsoon Forecast: The pace of the monsoon appears to be slowing in many states across the country. However, rainfall is still continuing in some states. Heavy rains are ongoing in several states, including Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The rains are wreaking havoc with their ferocious nature. In Uttarakhand, continuous heavy rainfall has severely disrupted normal life. In the Nainital district, continuous heavy rain since late last night has disrupted everyday life. The river’s water level has risen dangerously due to the constant heavy rainfall.

The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert in Uttarakhand until September 20. Rainfall is predicted for most areas in Dehradun and Bageshwar districts on September 17. Rainfall is also forecast for all districts on September 18, 19, and 20.

The India Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert for four districts of Telangana on September 17th. Thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds are expected in 33 districts of the state. Heavy rain alerts have been issued for isolated areas in Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, and Kamareddy districts of Telangana.

Weather Conditions in Rajasthan?

Many districts of Rajasthan have received good rainfall. Although the monsoon has slowed down in Rajasthan, the Meteorological Department predicts a resurgence of the monsoon in Rajasthan. This could lead to intermittent heavy rainfall in some districts of eastern Rajasthan over the next 100 hours. Thunderstorms and strong winds are also expected during this period.

Rain Warning in These States

According to the Meteorological Department, intermittent heavy rainfall is expected in several states over the next 72 hours due to the return of the monsoon.

In northwest India, a heavy rain warning has been issued for some areas of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and Haryana for the next two days. In South India, over the next 48 hours, some areas of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Yanam, Telangana, coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalaseema are expected to experience heavy rain accompanied by strong winds. Some areas of Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, and Nagaland may experience intermittent heavy rain. Many regions in Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, Chhattisgarh, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Vidarbha are expected to receive good rainfall.
