To promote oilseed production, the state government will give free minikits to farmers. Under the State Assisted Free Oilseed Seed Mini Kit Distribution Demonstration and Promotion Program run by the Agriculture Department, farmers will get two-kilo seed minikits of oilseed crops, rye and mustard, free of cost for the Rabi season.

District Agriculture Officer Rajiv Kumar Singh said that to get the benefits of this scheme, registered farmers must book online on the Agriculture Department website. Booking of minikits started on September 1 and will continue till September 25.

For this, farmers need to book online on the Agridarshan.up.gov.in portal. Farmers will be selected fairly through an online lottery system. The District Agriculture Officer said that 3,400 minikits of rye and mustard will be given in the district.

As per the scheme rules, only one minikit will be given to each farmer. The selected farmer will get the minikit through a POS machine at the Government Agricultural Investment Store in the development block.

The District Agriculture Officer appealed to farmers to book online so that the maximum number of farmers can benefit from this scheme.
