From thousands of ear scans, Apple has developed a lighter and compact design that is equipped with five different sizes of ear tips, including one XXS size. This guarantees everyone has a stable fit, particularly when exercising. The earbuds are further IP57-certified, which means they are both resistant to sweat and water. Apple has therefore rectified some of the long-term issues regarding durability and comfort with this upgrade.
Sound and Noise Cancellation: An Overhaul
The new AirPods have a multiport acoustic design that enhances sound clarity and spatial audio immersion. Apple says that the new ANC system reduces background noise twice as much as on the AirPods Pro 2 and four times as much as in the first-gen model. Adaptive transparency mode lets natural ambient sounds in, while personalized EQ tunes to individual tastes. For both music listeners and commuters alike, this is a major step forward in the area of audio performance.
Fitness Tracking with Heart Rate Monitoring
The AirPods Pro, for the first time, feature a heart rate sensor specifically designed. Through infrared light, the earbuds can measure blood flow to track heart rate, calories, and workout intensity during 50+ types of workouts through the Fitness app on iPhone. The new Workout Buddy uses on-device AI to deliver real-time performance feedback, making AirPods Pro 3 an actual fitness companion.
Live Translation and Smarter Conversations
Apple has also added live translation to the AirPods Pro 3. Available in languages such as English, French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish, the feature allows for smooth face-to-face conversations despite language differences. Conversation Boost is no longer only manual, where voices become clearer in noisy spaces. Coupled with Apple’s hearing health features, including hearing tests and certified protection ratings, these earbuds step into the realm of making entertainment more accessible.
Battery Life and Sustainability Efforts
Battery life has also been enhanced to provide up to eight hours of music listening with ANC and 10 hours in transparency mode. The charging case is also capable of extended use while being small. Following Apple’s environmental aspirations, AirPods Pro 3 incorporate 40% recycled material, including 100% recycled cobalt in the battery and 65% recycled plastic in the case, while packaging is made entirely of fiber.
Pricing and Availability
AirPods Pro 3 cost $249 in the US. Pre-orders have begun already, and the earbuds will formally arrive in stores on September 19, 2025. With robust sound, more capable health features, and real-time translation, the AirPods Pro 3 are becoming Apple’s most sophisticated earbuds yet.
