Union Minister Jitendra Singh stated that after receiving a message about a cloudburst from the Leader of Opposition of Jammu and Kashmir and local MLA Sunil Kumar Sharma, he spoke to Kishtwar Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma. At present, the relief and rescue team has reached the spot and started the rescue operation.

The cloudburst incident has occurred on a large scale, with the possibility of significant loss of life. Regarding the flash flood in the Chashoti area of Kishtwar, Union Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh said, “I received a call from the Leader of Opposition of Jammu and Kashmir and local MLA Sunil Kumar Sharma that there has been a massive cloudburst in his area. This is also the route of the popular Machail Mata Yatra, which starts from here. The cloudburst has happened on a huge scale, which can lead to a large number of casualties.
