According to the court, it has been said to keep the stray dogs in shelter homes. The administration has started action on a large scale without receiving a copy of the order. On the other hand, anger is also visible among the activists. People are seen knocking on the door of the Supreme Court. This matter came before the CJI on Wednesday.

The issue of stray dogs was raised before the CJI.
At 4 pm on Wednesday, the activists brought this issue before CJI Justice BR Gavai. They said that the written copy of the order passed on Monday by the bench of Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice R Mahadevan has not been made available yet.

Usually, the apex orders are uploaded on the website within 24-48 hours and sent to the lawyers, but the order given in the suo motu case on stray dogs in Delhi on Monday was not published till 4:30 pm on Wednesday.

Action to catch stray dogs started.
A lawyer told the CJI bench that the orders of two different benches of the Supreme Court are contradictory. Along with this, in 2024, a bench of Justice Sanjay Karol and Justice JK Maheshwari had ordered the government to implement the Animal Birth Control Rules.
This order talked about leaving stray dogs back to their original place and banning their killing. That decision also talked about showing compassion towards all living beings.
