New Delhi: Now all the eyes of the politicians are fixed on the Bihar assembly elections, for which all the political parties are busy with their preparations. Just before the elections, the grand alliance suffered a major setback. CPI-ML MLA Mahanand Singh has been sent to jail in an old case. A decision has been taken to send him to jail in a criminal case related to the year 2001.
He was to appear in Jehanabad Civil Court, from where the court of SDJM Manish Kumar sent him to jail in judicial custody after the hearing. Now the next hearing of this case will be on Wednesday, on which all the supporters are keeping an eye. There is a stir among the supporters of the MLA as well.
Know what is the whole matter.
MLA Mahanand Singh was arrested in a criminal case of the year 2001. At the time of the incident, he was not an MLA, but was active in politics. Mahanand Singh had created an obstacle in government work at that time. After this, a case was registered against him at the Jehanabad police station.
Mahanand Singh was the accused in case number 67/2001. But he was not appearing in court, so the court issued a warrant against him. The party’s general secretary, Dipankar Bhattacharya, was detained by the police. In protest against this, CPI (ML) had called for a bandh in the whole of Bihar.
For the Bihar bandh, Mahanand Singh, along with his supporters, had jammed the road in Jehanabad. When the police came to clear the jam, Mahanand strongly opposed it. Then a case was registered against him under various sections, including obstruction in government work.
It is considered a setback for the grand alliance.
