Ather 450S: India’s electric two-wheeler space has a fresh buzz. Ather Energy has introduced an all-new variant of its Ather 450S scooter that gets a whopping 161 km claimed range. This adds to the competition for Ola and TVS, and it has just become more serious. The sporty styling and updated tech features are intended to entice youth-oriented, urban riders who seek style and performance in an electric offering.

This new Ather 450S variant comes with a 3.7 kWh battery, which provides it with the ability to offer up to 161 km range under ideal conditions. Real-world performance will be slightly different based on riding conditions and behavior. In Bengaluru, the ex-showroom price is ₹1.46 lakh. It will rival the likes of Ola S1 Air, TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, and Hero Vida V1 in the long-range e-scooter market.
Fast Charging and Warranty
Ather has fast home charging, with the battery going from 0 to 80% in 4.5 hours. The expanding Ather Grid network in India has more than 3,300 charging stations. To alleviate long-term ownership concerns, Ather provides the Eight70 warranty — on the battery for 8 years or 80,000 km, whichever is earlier.
Speed and Ride Modes
The 450S comes with a 5.4 kW motor in its 3.7 kWh version, which produces 22 Nm torque. This makes it possible for the scooter to go from 0 to 40 km/h within 3.9 seconds. It can do a top speed of 90 km/h. It has four modes of riding: Smart Eco, Eco, Ride, and Sport. These modes balance performance and range based on the requirements of the rider.
Safety Features
The scooter is packed with technology. It has a 7-inch DeepView screen with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn directions. Safety features are AutoHold, Fall Safe, Emergency Stop Signal, and theft alert. Over-the-air (OTA) updates maintain the software up-to-date with updates and new features released from time to time.
