3 New Bikes: India’s commuter motorcycle market is set for a fresh wave of launches. With affordability, fuel efficiency, and practicality in high demand, manufacturers are focusing more on the 100cc to 125cc range. Honda and Hero, two of India’s biggest two-wheeler makers, are now preparing to introduce three new commuter bikes aimed at value-conscious riders. Here’s what’s coming soon.
Honda CB125 Hornet
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India is ready to introduce a sporty new model in the 125cc segment. Named the CB125 Hornet, this motorcycle will be launched on August 1, 2025, with bookings starting on the same day. Designed for young riders, the CB125 Hornet sports an aggressive look and comes powered by a 123.94cc engine generating 10.99 bhp and 11.2 Nm torque.
It features a 5-speed gearbox and offers premium touches like a 4.2-inch TFT screen with Bluetooth, turn-by-turn navigation, USB-C charging, front USD forks, and disc brakes at both ends. This new offering aims to mix commuter practicality with a hint of sportiness.
Honda Shine 100 DX
Honda has also unveiled an upgraded version of its popular Shine 100, now named the Shine 100 DX. Positioned as a more premium alternative, this model brings design enhancements such as a wider fuel tank, updated graphics, chrome accents on the headlamp, and a new LCD display. Under the body, it continues to run on the same 98.98cc engine that produces 7.28 bhp and 8.04 Nm of torque, paired with a 4-speed gearbox. Bookings for the Shine 100 DX will also start from August 1, 2025. This version caters to riders looking for more style without compromising on efficiency.
Hero Glamour 125
Hero Motocorp is preparing a major update for its popular Glamour 125 model. Recently spotted in testing, the new version will come with several first-in-segment features. One of the standout additions is cruise control, usually seen in premium motorcycles. Other upgrades include a fully digital LCD instrument console, improved switchgear, and a USB charging socket.
The bike retains its existing 124.7cc engine that delivers 10.7 bhp and 10.6 Nm of torque. These enhancements are likely to make the Glamour 125 even more appealing in the commuter segment, especially for riders who want advanced features in a budget-friendly package.
