At the same time, more than 50 lakh central employees and about 65 lakh pensioners will benefit from the revision of salary, pension and allowances.

Salary and pension will be available from the new fitment factor.
The government can give a salary and a pension from the new fitment factor. The new fitment factor can be between 1.83 to 2.46. In which the basic salary of the employees, the pension of the pensioner and allowances will increase. Let us tell you that the nominated members of the 8th Pay Commission will submit the recommendations of the commission to the government. So the government can implement them in the new year of 2026 after discussing them.
The monthly basic salary will increase by this much.
At present, the monthly basic salary of a level-1 employee is Rs 18,000, while a level-2 employee gets Rs 19,900. According to the news, after the merger of both salary levels here, the level-1 employee can get more benefits, because a new salary structure will be formed.d
So let us remind you that in the last 7th Pay Commission, the minimum basic salary was increased based on a fitment factor of 2.57, due to which it increased from Rs 7,000 to Rs 18,000. The pension also increased from Rs 3,500 to Rs 9,000. However, it remains to be seen to what extent the government considers the recommendations of the commission, which will benefit the employees and pensioners.
The Modi government can implement the 8th Pay Commission from January 1, 2026. This Pay Commission was approved on January 16, 2025. Surprisingly, the government has not made any announcement on the names of the chairman of the committee and its members.
