There is important news for the farmers of Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. The last date to get insurance under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) is 31 July 2025. Farmers who have not yet taken the insurance should complete the process soon.

This scheme helps farmers cover losses caused by natural disasters like bad weather, drought, floods, hailstorms, and more. Under this scheme, farmers have to pay only 2% of the insurance premium, while the remaining amount is paid by the central and state governments.

Crops You Can Insure Under the Scheme

  • Under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), farmers can get insurance for these crops:
  • Paddy (irrigated and non-irrigated), soybean, groundnut, maize, moong, jowar, bajra, and urad.

If crops are damaged due to bad weather, drought, flood, or hailstorm, farmers will get money as compensation.

What is PM Fasal Bima Yojana?

The PM Fasal Bima Yojana started on 13 May 2016. It includes two parts:

  1. PM Fasal Bima Yojana
  2. Weather-Based Horticulture Crop Insurance Scheme

This scheme helps farmers if their Kharif crops are damaged because of natural disasters. Farmers who lose their crops will get insurance money under this plan.

How to Apply for PMFBY

Online Application

  • Sowing certificate
  • Patwari report or land papers

Offline Application

When to Apply?

Farmers should apply within 10 days after sowing the crop. If they apply late, they may not get the benefits.
