Today, on April 18, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding thunderstorms and rain in many areas of North-West India. This change in the weather is seen due to an active western disturbance. Today, warnings have also been issued regarding rain in many states.

Weather conditions in Delhi

Strong surface winds are expected to blow during the day in the country’s capital, Delhi, and the maximum temperature is expected to drop to 39 degrees Celsius. Apart from this, the minimum temperature can be recorded as high as 25 degrees Celsius. At the same time, a warning has been issued regarding lightning with light rain in Delhi tomorrow.

Weather conditions in Rajasthan

There is a possibility of experiencing relief from the heat in Rajasthan over the next 24 hours. According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum impact of the western disturbance active over the west of the Himalayas from April 16 will be felt on April 19 and 20. Due to this, the effect of the heat wave will be less in Rajasthan. According to the Jaipur Meteorological Centre, the maximum temperature in the state today is expected to be between 44 and 46 degrees.

Rain alert in these states, too

According to the weather forecasting agency Skymet, rain is expected in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand today. In addition, light to moderate snowfall is possible, accompanied by rain, on April 18 and 19. On April 18, light rain with thunder is likely in East Bihar, some parts of Jharkhand and North Punjab.

According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain can be expected in Sikkim, Northeast India, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and coastal Odisha. Additionally, an alert has been issued regarding heavy rainfall in certain areas. Along with this, light to moderate rain can be observed in West Bengal, Odisha, Kerala, and Southern Karnataka.

The possibility of a heatwave in these states

At the same time, the maximum temperature is expected to increase in Northwest India, Central India, and Gujarat over the next 2-3 days. Apart from this, severe heat wave conditions are expected in West Rajasthan today. The heat wave is likely to occur in East Rajasthan till April 19.
