Now, 53-year-old Kambli will receive financial help from Gavaskar’s CHAMPS Foundation. This foundation was started in 1999, and its main aim is to help needy former international players.

Vinod Kambli has played 104 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and 17 Test matches for the Indian cricket team.
CHAMPS Foundation will give ₹30,000 every month
According to a report by the Times of India, Sunil Gavaskar’s CHAMPS Foundation will give Kambli ₹30,000 every month. This support will continue for his entire life. The payment process started on April 1.

Along with the monthly financial help, Kambli will also receive ₹30,000 every year for medical expenses.
Kambli was admitted to the hospital due to health problems
In December, Kambli was admitted to Akriti Hospital because of a urinary infection. Gavaskar met Kambli during the 50th-anniversary program of Wankhede Stadium, where he also spoke to two of Kambli’s doctors.
Kambli’s long battle with alcohol addiction
Kambli has been fighting alcohol addiction for a long time. After his hospital stay, doctors also found blood clots in his brain.
