Retirement Age Update : Good news for state government employees. Now lakhs of employees will get more benefits from the govt. The retirement age in Punjab has been increased to 65 years. These decisions have been taken in the cabinet meeting of CM Bhagwant Mann. After the cabinet meeting, Mann government minister Harpal Singh Cheema held a press conference and said that many important decisions were taken in favor of Punjab. The retirement age in the medical faculty was 62 years, which has now been increased to 65 years. These professors have experience, which will be beneficial. Also, the retirement age of specialty doctors has been increased from 58 to 65, but this will be contractual.
Minister Harpal Singh Cheema further said that the blocks in the Panchayat Department of Punjab will be made rational. The blocks will be reconstructed. The OTC scheme was not applicable in the Improvement Trust, a decision has also been taken on this. Now 50 percent of the contract fee has been waived off. He further said that it has been 75 years since the country got independence, but there is no SC-ST reservation in any state in the court.
Minister said that when he came to the assembly for the first time in 2017, he had also demanded that 20 percent reservation be given in the court, but the Congress never held the hands of Dalit children during its tenure. When the AAP government came, CM Bhagwant Mann allowed it. For the first time, the Aam Aadmi Party government took a decision in favor of the Dalits of Punjab.
58 posts reserved for SC-ST: Cabinet Minister
Punjab Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema further said that the cabinet has taken a historic decision and reserved 58 posts in the AG office for SC-ST. This decision has been taken for the lawyers of Punjab.
