Many small business owners and craftsmen in the country want to grow their businesses, but their biggest challenge is financial problems, especially the lack of capital. To help them, the central government has introduced a special scheme called PM Vishwakarma Yojana. Under this scheme, a loan of up to Rs 3 lakh is easily available at an interest rate of just 5 percent. There is no need to provide any collateral for this loan. What is Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana?

PM Vishwakarma Yojana is a government scheme to help artisans and craftsmen. It supports traditional skills by providing financial help, better tools, and training. This scheme ensures that artisans can grow and compete in the market.

Who Can Get the Benefits?

  • Artisans or workers doing 18 traditional occupations using tools and their hands.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Should already be working in their trade.
  • Should not have taken benefits from PMEGP, PM Swanidhi, or Mudra schemes in the last 5 years.
  • Only one family member (husband, wife, or unmarried children) can apply.
  • Government employees and their families cannot apply.

Benefits of the Scheme

  1. Get a PM Vishwakarma certificate and ID card.
  2. Take a loan up to Rs 1 lakh in the first step and Rs 2 lakh in the second step, at only 5% interest.
  3. Get basic training for 5-7 days and advanced training for 15+ days. A daily stipend of Rs 500 will be given.
  4. Get e-vouchers of Rs 15,000 for buying tools after basic training.
  5. Earn Rs 1 on each digital transaction for up to 100 transactions every month.
  6. Helped with quality certification, branding, and selling products online to increase income.

Loan Details

Loans are given in two parts:

  • Rs 1 lakh in the first part.
  • Rs 2 lakh in the second part.

Verification Process

  • The first check is done at the Gram Panchayat or ULB level.
  • Then, the District Implementation Committee reviews it.
  • Finally, the Screening Committee gives its approval.

Registration Update

An awareness and registration camp for PM Vishwakarma Yojana was held at Hotel Shalimar Palace, Jehanabad. More than 220 people attended the event, and 57 artisans were registered on the PM Vishwakarma Portal during the program. This event was organized by the MSME Development Office, Patna, with the help of the District Administration and local industry groups.
