Delhi to Katra Expressway: Traffic operation has started in the Haryana border of the 699 km long Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway. Vehicles have now started running on the 135 km long section from Kundli Manesar Palwal (KMP) Expressway to the Punjab border of Kaithal district. The construction work of this expressway is going on in Punjab right now. Toll collection has also started on the 135 km long section in the state border. A total of 8 toll barriers have been built on the Haryana section of the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway.
These will be the toll tax rates
While traveling on the Haryana part of the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway, light motor vehicles i.e. cars, jeeps etc. will have to pay Rs 240 toll tax for one way and Rs 360 for both ways. Light commercial vehicles will have to pay Rs 385 and Rs 580, while 2 axle buses and trucks will have to pay Rs 805 for one side and Rs 1210 for both sides as toll tax.
For three axle commercial vehicles, the toll tax for one side has been kept at Rs 880 and for both sides at Rs 1320. Toll fee will be charged on the lines of KMP Expressway. The vehicle will be given a slip at every entry point on the expressway and toll fee will be charged at the exit point.
Toll plazas at these places
The first toll plaza on this expressway has been built in Hasangarh as soon as you move ahead from KMP Expressway, the second in Humayunpur in Rohtak, the third in Poothi in Sonipat, the fourth in Issapur, the fifth in Jamni in Jind, the sixth in Alewa and the seventh toll plaza has been built in Kharak Pandava in Kaithal. Light motor vehicles like cars, jeeps, vans etc. will have to pay a toll fee of Rs 240 from KMP to Kharak Pandava.
Route in Haryana border
This expressway will start from KMP near village Nilothi situated on Bahadurgarh-Sonipat border in Jhajjar district of Haryana and will go till Katra. Starting from Nilothi, this expressway will pass through Sonipat, Rohtak, Gohana, Jind, Karnal, Kaithal and enter Punjab border from Khanauri border. Its construction work will be done from Sangrur district of Punjab to Amritsar and then to Katra.
