Mohammed Shami: Will Bengal Pacer Make a Comeback in BGT? Know BCCI’s Latest Update

Mohammed Shami Return Update: There had been speculation for several weeks about Mohammed Shami potentially joining Team India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Now, the BCCI has released his medical report, confirming that his injury has not fully healed yet. Shami was last seen playing in the 2023 ODI World Cup, and a year has passed since then. This raises the question: how much longer will Team India and its fans have to wait for Shami’s return?

In a statement, the BCCI explained that Shami’s right heel injury had completely healed, but there was still some swelling in his left knee. As for his return, it has been revealed that Shami is focusing on improving his strength and conditioning with the medical staff. He is working at the BCCI Center of Excellence to reach the necessary fitness levels, ensuring that he is fully prepared for long spells of bowling in Test matches.

Currently, excitement around the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 is at its peak, which was started on December 21. Shami’s return to the Bengal team for this tournament depends on the condition of his knee. For now, it has been confirmed that Shami will not join Team India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He may also miss the upcoming series against England.
