Uttarkashi Earthquake – 4.2 Magnitude Quake Strikes Uttarkashi

Uttarkashi Earthquake: Tremors were felt once again in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi district on Saturday. According to available information, the earthquake measured 4.2 on the Richter scale. The tremors occurred at 8:07:30 PM on Saturday.

The epicentre was recorded at 30.744° North latitude and 78.414° East longitude, with a focal depth of approximately 11 kilometres below the surface. People rushed out of their homes in panic as soon as they felt the tremors, with many scrambling to safer locations.

Earlier, tremors had been felt in several parts of Uttarakhand around 10:23 PM on Tuesday; this earthquake had a magnitude of 4.4 and was centred in Bageshwar.

Reports indicate the earthquake’s magnitude was 4.2. Fearing the quake, residents stepped out of their homes. It struck at 8:07:30 PM, originating from a depth of about 11 kilometres.

People Rushed Out of Homes
There have been no reports of loss of life or property so far. People have been advised to exercise caution rather than panic during the earthquake.
