UPI Burj khalifa: A significant convenience is being introduced for Indian travelers heading to Dubai. The well-known tourist spot has become the first attraction in the UAE to accept UPI payments for e-commerce transactions, as announced by NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL) on Wednesday (July 29). Most notably, Indian visitors can now purchase tickets to At the Top, Burj Khalifa online using UPI payments.

According to reports, NIPL, the international division of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), stated that this service has been launched in collaboration with ‘Neopay’ and ‘Emaar Entertainment’.

Payments can be made through any UPI app

Now, Indian tourists can secure tickets and other experiences using UPI by visiting the official Burj Khalifa website prior to their trip to the UAE. This means that various items can also be booked using UPI. They can utilize any UPI-enabled payment application for this purpose, without needing a specific UPI platform.

This new service is an extension of the ongoing partnership between NIPL and NeoPay. QR code payments were initiated in 2022.

Indian travelers have been able to make UPI payments at merchants linked to the NeoPay network since the introduction of UPI payments via QR code in the UAE in 2022. With this new feature, UPI can now be utilized for online reservations.

Ritesh Shukla, Managing Director and CEO of NIPL, remarked, “Indian travelers seek a payment option that is simple, dependable, and familiar when traveling abroad. Incorporating UPI into online bookings for At the Top, Burj Khalifa, will enable them to use their preferred payment method even before they reach the UAE.”

Reliable digital payments between the two nations.

The company asserts that this initiative will address the increasing demand for straightforward and trustworthy digital payments between India and the UAE, further enhancing the digital payment framework between the two countries. NeoPay CEO Vibhor Mundhra mentioned that this is a significant advancement for digital commerce between the two nations. With this, NeoPay has become the first company in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region to offer UPI payments for e-commerce transactions.

Meanwhile, an Emaar Entertainment spokesperson said that adding UPI to online bookings will make booking tickets for Indian tourists easier and more convenient than ever before. He added that Indian tourists are one of the largest international tourist groups visiting Burj Khalifa.
