Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections: The political landscape regarding the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections is shifting rapidly. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is directly focusing on constituencies where the BJP’s position has weakened. Amidst this, the CM is preparing to offer a significant financial package to women.
Under the government’s plan, one crore (10 million) women in the state could receive ₹1 lakh each. This amount will be transferred directly into the women’s bank accounts. Under the scheme, the first instalment of ₹20,000 will be disbursed in December.
Subsequently, the second instalment of ₹30,000 and the third instalment of ₹50,000 will be provided. Across these three instalments, each woman will receive a total of ₹1 lakh. A similar scheme was launched in Bihar prior to the assembly elections there; however, in that instance, the plan involved providing ₹50,000 to women through the ‘Jeevika’ program, with ₹10,000 initially deposited into their accounts.
Interest-free loans under the Livelihood Mission
The government is preparing to provide this amount as an interest-free loan under the Uttar Pradesh State Livelihood Mission. The government is also proposing to issue special credit cards to the one crore women associated with self-help groups. The scheme is planned for implementation over three years.
A major move to woo women voters
With UP standing on the threshold of assembly elections, this proposed government scheme is considered highly significant. However, details regarding eligibility, the complete payment structure, and the official announcement are not yet clear. One crore women will receive loans to start small businesses or expand existing enterprises.
