CBDT said that for transactions done until March 31, 2024, and in cases where PAN should be linked to Aadhaar by May 31,.

Tax deductions will not be considered of any importance in 2024. According to Sandeep Sehgal, Partner-Tax, AKM Global, the circular provides some relief to the taxman in cases where the taxpayer’s PAN is found to be inactive due to a lack of linking with Aadhaar. In such a situation, it is important that you get this work done in time; otherwise, you will have to regret it later after the time has passed.

Know the last date

According to an official, in cases where notices for low deductions have been received due to this issue, users have been strongly advised to avoid them. If you ideally link taxpayers Aadhaar with PAN before May 31, then you will not have to face any problems. Therefore, you can do this work first by going to the public convenience centre.
