Honda Activa Electric: Honda, which has dominated the two-wheeler segment with Activa, is now preparing to launch this scooter in electric version. Currently, companies like Ola, Ather, TVS iQube dominate the EV segment in the Indian market.
In such a situation, Honda is trying to overtake these brands through its Activa EV. Although no official information is available about the launch date of this scooter, the arrival of electric Activa is considered certain.
Will be launched in 2025
According to sources, this scooter is said to be launched in June 2025. It is believed that this scooter will be better than the Activa petrol version.
Talking about the price, it can be launched between Rs 1.02 lakh to Rs 1.23 lakh. The company will present Activa as a budget friendly electric scooter with updated design.
Will be equipped with a powerful battery
The new electric scooter will be powered by a 3.78 kWh lithium-ion battery and will support fast charging. It will give a range of 140 km to 160 km on a single charge.
12 inch alloy wheels will also be provided in this scooter. With the excellent range of this scooter, customers can save a lot of money compared to the fuel-powered Activa.
Its top speed will be around 65 km per hour. In this scooter you will get a digital display, where you can see digital speedometer and battery range etc. Along with this, this scooter will come with Bluetooth connectivity, USB port for phone charging and music control system.
The new Honda Activa electric scooter model will compete with Ether 450X, Ola and TVS iQube electric scooters in the Indian market. The Activa electric scooter is based on a platform called Platform E.
It will be used for many upcoming electric models with different battery architectures and installations. The Japanese two-wheeler maker has already filed a patent for the EV technology including fixed battery, motor, controller, charger.
Its patent indicates that the new Honda electric scooter will have a stationary battery under the floorboard and a hub motor at the rear. Along with the Activa electric scooter, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) will introduce another new EV.
This new EV scooter is likely to come with replaceable batteries. The two-wheeler manufacturer has revealed plans to set up battery exchange centers at 6,000 of its touchpoints across the country.
However, at present very little information has been officially revealed about the Honda EV scooter. After the launch of this scooter, all the features will be explained in detail. This scooter is expected to be launched in June 2025.
