3 new compact SUVs will soon enter the Indian market, Tata and Hyundai also included in the list

3 new compact SUVs :-Tata had unveiled the production version of the Curve concept at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 in February which is powered by a diesel engine. Citroen India had unveiled the Basalt Vision Coupe concept a few months ago which is scheduled to be launched later this year. The Hyundai Alcazar is set to undergo a significant update inspired by the Creta facelift later this calendar year.

Updates

The Indian automotive market is set to welcome several new mid-size ICE powered SUVs from manufacturers like Hyundai, Tata and Citroen in the coming months. There is already strong competition in this segment and it will increase further after the new launch. Come, let us know about them.

Tata Curvev

Tata had unveiled the production version of the Curve concept at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 in February, which is powered by a diesel engine. Its electric version is scheduled to be released in mid-2024, with the ICE version also launching soon after. The ICE model will have a new 1.2L DI turbo petrol and 1.5L turbo diesel engine.

Engine

The 1.2L DI turbo petrol engine will produce 125 PS of peak power and 225 Nm of torque, while the 1.5L turbo diesel engine will produce 115 PS and 260 Nm of torque. Buyers will be able to choose between manual and automatic transmissions.

Citroën Basalt

Citroen India introduced the Basalt Vision Coupe concept a few months ago, which is scheduled to be launched later this year. It will be positioned above the C3 Aircross and will directly rival the upcoming Tata Curve.

Engine

The SUV, built on the heavily localized CMP architecture, will be powered by the familiar 1.2L turbo three-cylinder petrol engine found in the C3 Aircross, a 5-seater. It will be available with both manual and automatic transmission.

Hyundai Alcazar Facelift

The Hyundai Alcazar is set to undergo a significant update inspired by the Creta facelift later this calendar year. Major changes can be seen in its exterior and interior. However, the 1.5L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel engines will remain unchanged and there will be no updates to the transmission options.
