Poco, a sub-brand of Xiaomi known for offering good value for money, has launched the Poco X6 Neo in India. This mid-range phone packs some interesting features, including a high-resolution camera and a smooth display, making it a potential option for budget-conscious users. Let’s delve into the details and see if the Poco X6 Neo lives up to the hype.

Display and Design

The Poco X6 Neo sports a large 6.67-inch Full HD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) AMOLED display. AMOLED displays are known for their deep blacks, rich colors, and excellent contrast, making them ideal for watching videos, playing games, and consuming other visual content. The phone boasts a 120Hz refresh rate, which translates to smoother scrolling and animations compared to standard 60Hz displays.

While specific details about the design are a little scarce, leaks and early impressions suggest a familiar design language for Poco phones. We can expect a plastic back and a punch-hole cutout for the front-facing camera.

Performance

Under the hood, the Poco X6 Neo is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6080 processor. This is a mid-range chipset built on a 6nm process, which should offer decent performance for everyday tasks and some light gaming. It comes with two RAM options: 8GB and 12GB. The higher RAM option will provide better multitasking capabilities. Storage-wise, the phone starts with 128GB, with the option to expand further using a microSD card.

Camera

The Poco X6 Neo boasts a dual-camera system on the back. The main sensor is a high-resolution 108MP shooter, which is impressive for a phone in this price range. This sensor should be able to capture detailed photos in good lighting conditions. However, low-light performance might be a concern, and the lack of an ultrawide sensor may be a dealbreaker for some users. The phone also features a 16MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.

Battery and Other Features

The Poco X6 Neo is equipped with a 5000mAh battery, which is a decent capacity that should provide good endurance on a single charge. The phone also supports 33W fast charging, which allows you to quickly top up the battery when needed.

In terms of software, the Poco X6 Neo is likely to run on MIUI 14 based on Android 13. MIUI is a feature-rich custom skin, but it also comes with some bloatware.

Price and Availability

The Poco X6 Neo has been launched in India and is expected to hit other markets soon. The starting price for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant is around $250, making it a competitive option in the mid-range segment.
